Native Youth at Bay Area Media Festival
Projects created in the Oakland Indian Education Center’s media arts classes will be featured at this years Bay Area Youth Media Network Festival!
Students in our after school our media arts classes have explored media literacy, looked at representation in advertising, and learned graphic design and film making through our Adobe Youth Voices (AYV) program. In addition to learning valuable skills, youth have explored AYV’s philosophy of making media with a message in their projects. Their thoughtfulness and hard work is clear in Being Native: Dealing with Stereotypes one of the pieces that will be shown.
Come and check out their projects Saturday June 1st as part of Adobe Youth Voices Live along with many other amazing youth made movies, art and cool workshops.
